Systems Support Technician

Christie has an opportunity for a Systems Support Technician, working out of our Kitchener office.  

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Build, configure, install, deploy and support client systems and network/business applications.
  • Manage Desktop Devices (hardware, software and connectivity) incidents through to resolution.
  • Document and track support activity, clearly communicating technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner.
  • Provide standard and approved hardware and software (operating systems and standard office applications) support and maintenance on desktop and laptop devices for their entire lifecycle (including remote management using appropriate tools).
  • Support, manage, optimize and maintain the configuration and installation of Christie employees’ computer devices to include but not limited to, patch updates, hardware repairs with replacement parts provided by vendor.
  • Assist or train employees on the use of Christie’s online business applications.
  • Track and document the movement of hardware and software as required.  
  • Relocate, assemble, disassemble, or mount equipment as required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in end-user support.
  • Ability to deal effectively with clients and provide customer support.
  • Knowledge and experience on current Microsoft OS platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience with Macintosh OSX and hardware.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills.
  • Ability to perform research as required for technology support.
  • Should have good expertise with EUC tools, remote support tools, MS Office and Outlook.
  • Experience with ticketing system.
  • Preferable to have a good understanding of Skype for Business, VPN, and mobile device support.
  • Microsoft/A+/Network+ certification would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge in AD, basic understanding of network support, basic Linux support, and/or a basic understanding of VMware would be considered good to have.
  • Diploma in Information Technology or related field
